Isabel Framer is a judiciary interpreter in Ohio. She is a member of NAJIT, the National Association of Judiciary Interpreters and Translators. She served on the Interpreter Services Subcommittee of the Supreme Court of Ohio's Racial Fairness Implementation Task Force and serves on the Board for the Racial Fairness Report Project, Cleveland Ohio. She has testified as an expert in court proceedings regarding interpreter standards. She has served as a consultant to attorneys, prosecutors and law enforcement regarding interpreting standards. She presents CLE courses to judges and attorneys and training to law enforcement regarding legal issues, ethics, role and professional responsibilities of the interpreter in legal settings. Isabel is the author of Through the Eyes of an Interpreter and Suggested Guide for Interpreted Proceedings, published by The Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy’s legal journal “The Advocate” and author of Interpreters and Their Impact on the Criminal Justice System: The Alejandro Ramirez Case, published in the NAJIT journal, Proteus.

Director of Training and Quality for Language Line Services, has led the efforts in interpreter training, certification, and quality assurance at the company for the past few years. She has an M.A. degree in International Relations from the University of Oregon and received her Certificate in Training from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Her experience includes designing and implementing interpreter certification as well as developing and delivering interpreter training programs. Prior to working for Language Line Services, she was employed for five years by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She also acted as co-translator of four publications. Danyune has been a presenter at the Massachusetts Medical Interpreters Association Conference (2000), the Critical Link Conference in Montreal, Canada (2001), and the American Translators Association Conference (2000, 2001), as well as numerous other regional conferences. She has been an active member of the National Council on Interpreting in Healthcare (NCIHC) and the Interpretation Subcommittee of the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM).

Holly Mikkelson is an Adjunct Professor in the Graduate School of Translation and Interpretation at the Monterey Institute of International Studies and Director of Quality Assurance for Language ServicesAssociates, an interpreting agency based in Philadelphia. She is a certified court interpreter and accredited translator, and has written numerous books and articles on court, medical and community interpreting.

Cindy Roat is a consultant and trainer on issues related to language access in health care. She has been a trainer for over seventeen years, starting her career by working for a decade in rural development programs in Latin America, after which she earned a Masters degree in International Public Health from the University of Washington in Seattle. Certified by the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services for both medical and social service interpreting, she has been a medical interpreter for over eight years. She has made significant contributions in the areas of training, program development, policy formulation, advocacy and organizational outreach. Cindy is the principle author of Bridging the Gap, currently the most widely offered training for medical interpreters in the United States. She is a founding member of the Society of Medical Interpreters (SOMI) in Seattle and Co-chair of the Board of the National Council on Interpreting in Health Care (NCIHC) and is known nationally as an energetic advocate for the field of health care interpreting and for interpreters in general.
